SHOCK Accumulator at Hayling
Next weekend sees the finale of the 2010 SHOCK Accumulator series at Hayling Island Sailing Club. This series that has been running since May and employs a rather unconventional high-points scoring system, with no discards, based on event entry numbers, plus a weighting system to make each event worth more than the last. This means the Hayling Open next weekend has twice the weighting factor of the first event at Weymouth (a bit like a medal race). The series was dreamt up by Giles & Simon one rainy day in the WPNSA canteen last winter, and Simon"s SHOCK Sailing are kindly sponsoring the whole series. This is the first time the series has been publicised on this website (apologies), so please click on the title link to see the leader board. Rumour has it that Henry & Sam, the current leaders, can"t make this medal race event, hence it"s open to anyone in the top 15 to walk away with the overall prize on Sunday afternoon!
