Datchet Open report by Will Carlisle
Thank you to everyone who came to Datchet 9er open, the turnout was moderate but nevertheless worthwhile ( there was an open training running the same weekend). A special thanks to the race officer who was very welcoming and friendly and provided interesting racing in the light and shifty conditions. No-one was at the front for all races and most of us had good and bad races. The hospitality and organization was very nice and relaxed which we as sailors like. A special mention to James Poyner who landed at Gatwick during the first race and made it into the boat for the third race, this just shows how much we all just like sailing the 29er! Well done to the winners Jack Hawkins and Chris Thomas.
