Bleddyn & Nick win Intervela with a string of 1sts!
Thanks to the team in Riva for sending back this report from the 59th Intervela Regatta:The 59th Intervela attracted a small fleet of 29ers as a guest class to compete alongside the 420s and 470s. The small fleet, comprised of 6 british boats, Italians and assorted foreigners, had close racing throughout the week in medium to heavy wind. Garda conditions prevailed except for one day where a 30 knot westerly appeared and hilarity ensued. The conditions led to close racing under the cliffs with some windsurfers also getting involved and causing much vexation. The british team were up at 6.30am for 8.30 starts in the morning northerly wind. Many were amused to be looking at their watches up the beat to see it was 7.55am in England! The afternoon "ora" wind promptly kicked in on most days which gave rise to some fantastic racing. The british boats came out on top. Full results are on the title link; Bleddyn & Nick won, Alex and Max were 3rd, Henry & Sam 5th, and Becky & Fiona 1st girls again in 6th.
