There is a range of exciting 29er sailing opportunities available this summer and we wanted to make sure that everyone had full visibility of what is happening.
There are two international events, the Zhik 29er World Championships in Gydnia Poland, starting 26 July and the Zhik 29er European Championships in Arco, Lake Garda Italy, starting 16 August. Both are entered from the International Class ourclubadmin site here https://int29erclass.ourclubadmin.com/index.php (a different username and password is required from the UK site). For the Worlds, entry closes on 28 July but the lower price is only available until Sunday 2 June. Entry for the Europeans closes on 5 August and the lower price is available until Sunday 23 June.
The UK Class is providing pre-event training and coach support for both these events which can be booked on the UK Class ourclubadmin site here https://29eruk.ourclubadmin.com/index.php . The deadline for both is Friday 31 May. Both events are already fully subscribed but we may be able to provide additional support if the numbers allow. If you want to express an interest in this, please contact Lisa Black at [email protected] by this Friday.
The NeilPryde Sailing 2019 UK 29er Class National and Open Championship is taking place in Pwllheli from 6 August. The deadline for entries is 31 July but the price goes up from Friday 31 May. Again, the class is providing pre-event training and coach support and the deadline for booking this is Friday 31 May. Both are done from the UK ourclubadmin site. While you are on there, why not enter the Harken GP6 which is taking place at Hayling Island Sailing Club on 6&7 July? You need to enter that by 2 July.
Finally, for the newcomers to the class there is a one day training event at Draycote on 29 June which you need to book by 28 June.
For everyone doing exams, I hope they are going well and good luck with the remaining ones. It won’t be long until they are over and you can get back out on the water for a brilliant summer of 29er sailing.
