While the UK has been basking in rain and storms over New Year the ISAF Worlds have been underway in Malaysia. It looks like the wind was fresher than many expected with some enviable sailing conditions looking at the photo's.

The International 29er Class rule changes for 2016 have been posted on the International Class website. The amendments can can also be found on the documents part of this website in the folder International.

From Molly Brown

In June 2016 I will be part of a team of 5 women who are going to attempt to set a world record for rowing accross the North Atlantic.

Ovi Inlands report from Bobby ...  huge thanks again to Harken, Ovingtons as well as Grafham for their support. Not forgetting Charlie Stowe for the effort he put in organising and re-organising the event and being CSL on "Big" Saturday.

The 29er Class is a signatory to the RYA Racing Charter. Details of that charter and the relevance to 29er Class members can be found below and in the documents section of the website.

RYA Racing Charter

Well done to all the competitors this weekend during two days of racing that tested the upper and lower end of the wind range. Huge thanks also to Grafham for hosting the rearranged dates.

Overall summary of 29er GP Survey

Attached is a summary of the recent survey on the location and structure of the GP series events. Thank you to the 159 respondents for your views.

Congratulations to Crispin Beaumont and Tom Darling winners of the Europcup event at Lake Garda from the Slovenian pair that finished 4th at the Worlds. James Grummett and Daniel Budden finished 5th overall to leave 2 GBR boats in the top 5.

29er Harken GP4 - Weymouth

By Daniel Budden & James Grummett

On the 24th of July 55 boats took to the water for the 4th Harken Grand Prix at Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy. The breeze was up at 12knts for the first few races and with a keen race officer the fleet launched on time out into the Weymouth Bay.

We get a lot of emails from people asking us questions about how to do things or find information on the website.

A big one is "How do I enter when I'm wait listed". This document has how your pages should look when you go to enter the event. If you do not see the pages like these then it means you are not yet able to enter the event from the waitlist.

By Harvey Martin

Hayling Island hosted the third GP in the Harken series on the 10/11 of October. It started cold and cloudy, with little wind, quite different to that forecasted, but with the usual Hayling tide. This made it an interesting day of racing with few teams being very consistent. Crispin and Tommy lead the first day with Dan and Nathaniel in a close second, counting two 1sts, and Arron and Billy in third. Other race winners included Bella and Ella and Bobby and Harvey.

Royal Torbay Yacht Club hosted the 2nd event in the 2015/16 Harken Grand Prix series over the weekend of 26th/27th September.

GRP Foils

Following an exhaustive process the International 29er Class is pleased to announce that ISAF approval for the use of the new GRP Foils has been received.

I am pleased to announce that Lisa Black has agreed to take on the role of 29er Class Administrator as of 1 October. Lisa has two sailors in the 29er fleet and has been administrator for the IOCA Optimist Teams among other roles.

Since becoming 29er Chairman a few people have questioned the performance of the UK 29er Fleet Internationally. So I have pulled together some other data to provide a broader picture to measure performance of the fleet during 2015.
