After a cracking start to the season at WPNSA the 29er Sailing Calendar continues with GP2 at Datchet on the 14/15thOctober. If you haven’t entered yet – don’t worry. There is still time (just!), simply go onto https://29eruk.ourclubadmin.com/ where you can find details of how to enter. Datchet should be a perfect venue for the many newcomer to our fleet so if you are joining one of the training groups then please come along and do some “real racing”!
The full programme for the rest of the year is as follows:
|Harken GP 2||14th/15th October ’17||Datchet Water Sailing Club|
|Ovington Inlands||18th/19th November ’17||Grafham Water Sailing Club|
|Harken GP 3||2nd/3rd December ‘17||Rutland Sailing Club|
|Noble Marine Winter Champs||3rd/4th February ‘18||Draycote Water Sailing Club|
|Harken GP 4||24th/25th March ‘18||Hayling Island Sailing Club|
|Harken GP 5||27th/28th May ’18||Pwllheli Sailing Club|
|Harken GP 6||14th/15th July ‘18||Royal Torbay Yacht Club|
The Harken GP series is scored as a series of 6 races, 4 to count. However please just come along to as few or as many as you like – most sailors treat them as individual events, only really focussing on the overall series towards the end. The Ovington Inlands and Noble Marine Winter Championships are stand alone events.
Please also note that the Pwllheli Grand Prix on 27/ 28th May is scheduled for the Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. We are hoping that this will enable more of our Southern fleet to attend by giving a longer travel time. The hope is that people will travel on Saturday so we plan an early start on Sunday with 5 races, followed by 3 on the Monday to enable an early departure. There will be more details closer to the time in the SSI’s but this may help with planning events and accommodation.
We look forward to seeing you there.
